Who Shouldn't Do Credit Card Rewards?

Never had a credit card: If you have never had a credit card before, depending if you have other plans (home, auto or student loans), you probably don't have a very established credit score. Credit cards that have good bonus offers and benefits are reserved for those who the banks deem as financially responsible, aka have a certian credit score rating. For this reason, if you don't have a credit score established yet, I would recommend getting a student or basic credit card first for 6-12 months before starting to work on the credit cards that give you all the perks. It may seem like a slow start, but once you start getting some cards, you never have to worry about your score again as long as you pay them off responsibility every statement.

Horrible at managing credit cards/debt: The goal of getting the bonuses from credit cards is to get these massive amounts of points back for spending no more money then you normally would on your life. But if you aren't good at managing your budget and can't pay off the statement balance when the month is due, the amount you have to pay in interest can quickly erase the benefits of the bonus money you earned and can even lead for you owing money. Easy way to avoid this? Set all your cards to "Auto pay" for the "Entire Statement Amount" and only spend what you can afford to pay off.

Bad credit score: If you credit score is below 600, you may find some resistance to getting approved for a lot of these credit cards with bonus and premium returns. If you find your self in this boat, focusing on paying all your cards off every month, keeping the balance on your cards below 30%, and do that consistently for 12 months and reevaluate.
